IPPMF Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT

The primary mission of the International Project Portfolio Management Forum (IPPMF) is to operate as a community of practice for project portfolio management professionals across the globe. The forum is dedicated to educating and improving the skills of its community members through the sharing of best practices, processes, methodologies, tools and technology with the ultimate aim of advancing the discipline across a wider base of industries around the world.

All members must express their commitment to the IPPMF code of conduct when they join the IPPMF or its affiliates and to subsequent changes to the code which may be agreed from time to time.

Purpose of the code

The code of conduct sets out the elements of professional standards and ethical

considerations which the IPPMF requires from members and shall be binding on all members

of the IPPMF.

Applicability

This code shall apply to all individuals and corporate bodies admitted to membership of the International Project Portfolio Management Forum (hereinafter: the IPPMF),

regardless of membership category. It shall furthermore apply to all aspects

of their conduct which may affect the standing of the IPPMF and/or of the project portfolio management profession. The code sets out the elements of professional standards and ethical considerations which the IPPMF requires from members and shall be binding on all members of the IPPMF, whether at international or country level.

Both professionalism and ethics relate to proper, acceptable conduct. Professionalism is

demonstrable awareness and application of competences and qualities covering knowledge,

appropriate skills and behaviours. Ethics covers the conduct and moral principles recognised within the IPPMF as appropriate for the project portfolio management profession.

All members of the IPPMF shall be provided with a copy of the code upon joining the forum and are encouraged to read, understand and comply with all aspects of the code. Members holding IPPMF leadership, president or steering committee roles are required to agree in writing that they will comply with the IPPMF’s code of conduct.
