Presidents Message
Welcome to the UK affiliate of the International Project Portfolio Management Forum!
Project Portfolio Management is still a relatively young discipline – probably the best indicator being the fact that there is no commonly used definition. Analysing other enterprise management disciplines shows however that Project Portfolio Management is in parts be practiced for quite some time or at least is and was part of investment considerations.
Lately there is a move away from the more mechanics of project management or “Do we do things right” towards the art of portfolio management “Do we do the right things”. Portfolio Management an art you might ask – yes, I would see it more an art than a science as it requires more than specific processes, skills and techniques to provide business value to the enterprise.
I invite you to join this forum so you can share your experiences with others but also learn from those who might have been in a similar situation.
We provide a platform for those interested in project, programme and portfolio management as a not-for-profit community of practice. This is a network where practitioners and others can discuss, learn and share.
The forum is completely independent from any software vendor or any professional services organisation – from members for members.
If you would like to become a member send an e-mail to membership_uk@ippfm.org, describing briefly what your role is, which industry you work in, how you would like to contribute and what you would like to get out of your membership.
Kind regards
Holger Heuss
